Amity Foundation needs your help.
For the entire year of 2020, the limitation on how much of your charitable donations you can deduct against your income, no matter who you are or how much you give, has been lifted. Previously, it was a maximum of 60% for cash donations and 50% for non-cash contributions.
Under the CARES Act, these limitations have been removed for Federal income tax purposes. Additionally, anyone who donates up to $300, whether they itemize or not, can deduct that against other income for donations in 2020 (considered an “Above the Line” deduction).
The Foundation is seeking the support of donors to help it broaden its reach and achieve continuity in its outreach efforts. Our target is $12,000 per month, from one or more significant donors. Sustaining donations help us to know that our services can be supported, freeing our staff to focus on what they do best—assist our participants.
Throughout the year, we also hold fundraising events. Volunteers are needed and especially appreciated at these times.
Evidence is mounting that equine-assisted therapy is faster, cheaper, and more effective than many traditional procedures and medications. We believe that thousands of lives could be helped, even saved, with greater awareness of, and support for, the equine therapy programs we offer.
